PHP or ASP.NET, skill or profession

Just read an article PHP is a skill not a profession So I did a search on hotjobs.yahoo.com and found an interesting result.

  1. Total: 159,118 Jobs
  2. PHP: 1,056 Jobs
  3. ASP.NET: 573 Jobs
  4. JSP: 698 Jobs
  5. Perl: 1,271 Jobs
  6. Python: 446 Jobs

So, either "fortune 1000's" is not looking on hotjobs, or fewer company have ASP.NET positions. If you are a beginner, think twice before you decide which language to learn. If you are a professional, would it be nice to add one more skill into your CV? I am totally ok with the opinions in the article, since I'm not the author nor the editor.  The thing I do know is whatever you call it, skill or profession, if it's useful for the project, learn it and use it.
